Lil-m Sari Sari Filipino Store.
Maristela McGregor was born in the Philippines and now lives in Gates.
Merle Snow opened Lil-m Sari Sari Filipino Store in Gates in mid-May. Snow was born in Manila and moved to the U.S. when she was in her 30s. She says Gates and Greece have a large Filipino population so it made sense to have it on the west side.
Lil-m Sari Sari Filipino Store is unique in that it carries primarily products imported from the Philippines. The store has a “Tambayan Area” — an informal Filipino term for “hangout spot.”
Products include pork tocino, Manila inihaw beef tapa, coconut vinegar, frozen stuffed milkfish, mango ice cream and Filipino-made spices, teas, sauces and more.
